SEPTEMBER | EXPLORE MAMMOTH LAKES

California has everything from deserts, mountains, lakes, and beaches, all within a day's drive of each other, and within that day's drive (from LA) is Mammoth Lakes, CA. Nestled in the eastern Sierra Nevada mountains, this little mountain town is a must see adventure.

Mammoth is known it's numerous surrounding lakes and it's abundant hiking trails that you can explore in a day or extend the journey to a multi-day backpacking trip. Usually we are ABNB experts but this time we decided to camp at one of Mammoth's many campsites and try our new Rei Camp Dome II tent.

September was a great time to visit, the days were warm, the night a bit cold, and the trails were almost empty. Avoid Mammoth on the holidays, it can be extremely overcrowded. When it is, go to nearby June Lake, it's a mini-Mammoth, just as beautiful and full of activities.

To end this beautiful journey, we headed to the popular hidden pools, hot springs paradise, most known by the locals. Make sure to do some research before going there because it's kind of difficult to locate. More details on Visit California.

So Voila, I loved Mammoth!
